Sporting Clays originated in England and was created to provide a recreational activity for hunters and people who like the outdoors. A typical sporting clays course consists of 14-16 stations. Each station provides a different setting and a variety of target presentations. This keeps the sport not only interesting but also challenging.
Everything you need for shooting is available at our clubhouse. We have loaner guns (or bring your own), you can buy ammunition and other supplies, and receive basic instructions from our expert instructors* – no experience necessary! There are several courses located around our beautiful 130+-acre facility. So if you’d like a motorized shooting cart, we can reserve one for you, or you’re welcome to bring your own. (See cart requirements).
At check-in, we’ll make sure you get the lay of the land, take a few minutes to go over safety waivers and issue an RFID card to activate the clay target throwers at each station.
A typical round includes 100 clay targets thrown from multiple target presentations at each station. Clays will zip in and out of the trees, sail from across the quarry, hop along the ground and keep you guessing where the next one will appear. Targets may be thrown as singles, report pairs (the second target launched at the sound of the first gun shot), or simultaneous pairs (both targets thrown at the same time). Don’t worry, you’ll see what we mean.
You can expect to spend one to three hours on the course depending on the number of clays thrown and the size of your group. For more details on what to wear, ammunition and gun regulations, safety waivers, and more, check out our FAQs or give us a call.
Shooting times are on a first come, first served basis. However, we do strongly recommend reserving a motorized shooting cart. It’s just that easy … and we promise, you’ll have a blast!
